Jill Livingston, Founder

Masters of Landscape Architecture

University of Colorado at Denver

Jill Livingston grew up with a shovel in her hand. She was raised by garden enthusiasts, one of which, her father, had Masters degrees in entomology and botany. As a teenager, Jill volunteered at the Cooperative Extension and answered plant health questions after becoming one of the youngest master gardeners in Illinois. She went on to complete an undergraduate degree in Social Work counseling from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana.

After trying out different professions, including a position working for the Governor as a capital budget analyst, she decided to turn her lifelong love of plants and gardening into a career. This desire brought her to Denver, Colorado in 1999 to earn a Master of Landscape Architecture degree.

During the course of her graduate program, she studied in Paris France. While studying the historical and infamous gardens in beautiful Paris. After just a few months of immersing herself in the famously beautiful urban gardens, Jill felt a surge of purpose that she could not ignore. Walking through the Jardin Atlantique, all of her senses were embraced and guided by the symbolic placement and performance of the plant life. While she had previously had her mind set on grand endeavors like large, public landscaping projects & international opportunities, a new vision had emerged - bringing this meaningful experience of landscaping back to Denver, Colorado.

Within a week of returning home, Jill had purchased her first truck and began the humble yet mighty task of transforming her community into a more connected, inspired, and naturally beautiful place. After 23 years of dedicated service, the Green Fuse maintains the same mission; to transform and enrich the value of every person’s environment by revealing unique potential and nurturing inspiration.
